There are so many customers and businesses at European tradeshows, it can be hard to make sure MKS stands out. I have found a fun, creative way to show my personality and stand out in the crowd.

I started off thinking about what I cared about and why it might matter to customers and I realized how proud I am of my Dutch culture. Maybe if I showed that sense of pride with passion and boldness, customers would give me the chance to share my same passion for MKS.

I started wearing Dutch orange socks many years ago and that’s how the buzz began. Last year’s Advanced Lithography conference in San Jose was planned on our national King’s Day holiday. With so many Dutch ASML people attending, I decided to step up my orange pride and wear my orange suit to the conference. People approached me and I took the conversations from there. More and more people started recognizing me at events and customer visits, even reaching out to me on LinkedIn – “Aren’t you the guy who…?”

Creating a lasting connection to people is key in both my professional and personal life. My Orange touch makes me stand out and allows for a bright opening of any conversation.
