At our warehouse, we find effective ways to make things work together to improve how we operate.

I am responsible for managing the logistics and warehousing operations in MKS Shenzhen, China. To better support the continuous growth of our business, it’s more important than ever to receive and ship goods efficiently and accurately.

To do my part, I designed a First in, First Out (FIFO) system where inventory is managed on a first produced first sold basis. To be successful, multiple pieces need to work together.

Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) improve the efficiency of receiving and shelving goods. QR code labels make data collection simpler for the movement of goods. Mobile printers receive the data from the PDAs and print the receipt labels.

It’s fast and accurate. Plus it makes it easy to backup and query the receipt and shipment records for the entire warehouse.

All these pieces, working together, create a solution that improves how we get the job done.
