The RMU Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) is an open, integrated platform for industrial automation and process control, based on PowerPC and Linux technology. Logic flexibility, based on C/C++ running on Linux, is now limitless compared to traditional Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems. In addition, each component in the control and I/O network can provide local web browser based diagnostics for fast debug and validation. The RMU is designed with simplicity, open and distributed control architectures for equipment and process automation.

With all available data storage (Compact Flash, USB), display, and I/O drivers with fully documented Portable Operating System Interface for Unix (POSIX) compliance software API interface, the RMU can be developed as a stand-alone or a distributed controller.

With large numbers of on-board I/O and expandability over Ethernet, the RMU is a robust and rugged system that can be used for factory automation control, data acquisition, and process monitoring. RMU is configured with a robust Linux environment, and all necessary functions to begin rapid development of your application. MKS provides the driver and code examples to get your application running quickly.
