The pharmaceutical and medical markets for MKS include products for medical equipment OEMs as well as for drug development and production.

Medical equipment applications include medical imaging, sterilization and disinfection products. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), is a predominant imaging technology requiring "leading edge" solutions to support the ever increasing applications for this modality both in advanced medical research and everyday clinical applications. MKS, a leader in MRI RF Amplifiers, offers a line of high-power RF pulse amplifiers specifically designed to support the demands of current as well as emerging MRI systems.

Drug development and manufacturing involves highly complex processes including the development of pharmaceutical preparations or finished drugs; biological products, such as serums and vaccines; bulk chemicals and botanicals used in making finished drugs; and diagnostic substances such as pregnancy and blood glucose kits. Time to market, manufacturability, product quality and cost reduction are critical requirements in this industry all while ensuring regulatory compliance.

For drug development and production MKS offers a broad range of products for pressure measurement, flow control, gas analysis, multivariate analysis, and production optimization to reduce cycle times, minimize inventories and plant downtime and eliminate waste. In addition, MKS designs and manufactures stainless steel fittings, and custom stainless tanks and other vessels for biopharmaceutical applications.
