Chill Roll Tacking

Electrostatic charging is used to increase production speeds on Heatset Web Presses. By utilizing electrostatic force to hold the web in intimate contact with the chill roll, the boundary layer between the web and chill roll can be eliminated. This helps eliminate "marking" or "streaking" and will allow the operators to increase press speeds. The highly-durable E-Tac Bar with its tungsten electrodes encapsulated into the G-10 channel using a high-temperature epoxy is well suited for the chill roll tacking application, especially in installations inside the smoke tunnel.

Ribbon Tacking

Electrostatic charging is used to hold multiple ribbons together as they are conveyed through the folder. Utilizing electrostatic force the ribbons are held together eliminating "dog ears" while insuring consistent cut-off lengths. Used mostly with Pinless Folders in the commercial/magazine printer market, the durable and highly efficient Ion Industrial Charging Bars are well suited for this application.
