Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) converts nitrogen oxides (NOx) into nitrogen (N2) and water (H2O). Typically, Urea (a form of Ammonia) is added to the flue or exhaust gas and is used with the catalyst in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR).

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Origins:

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) was brought about by increasing United States, European and US state regulations for NOx emissions from stationary combustion sources. Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is helping to drive NOx emissions to low target levels.

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) with MultiGas™ 2030 FTIR Analyzers:

MultiGas™ 2030 is an FTIR-based analyzer capable of directly measuring ppm to ppb levels various gasses in sample streams containing up to 30% H2O and CO2 frequently found in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) applications. This enables complete exhaust gas measurement on wet streams with minimal sample conditioning. This makes the MultiGas™ highly-effective as a monitor for Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) during combustion analysis.
